You won't have to wait much longer to shop at HomeGoods. The popular retail store is planning an October opening, according to the Quad City Times.

In March, we announced that HomeGoods would be opening at Elmore Marketplace in Davenport. Now, walls for the store are currently going up in between the JBar and Beauty Brands.

The news of the store's opening was a long time coming for QC residents, says Heart of America owner Mike Whalen, who is overseeing construction on the project.

"I've probably had more people over the years ask me if we can get a HomeGoods than any other store," he said, adding that the reaction also has been the strongest.

How exciting that the store will be open in time for the holiday season. I'm guessing there will be a lot of happy QC shoppers come this fall.
