This is a guest blog written by Townsquare Media's Michael Weindruch. Michael is one of Townsquare Quad Cities biggest sports fans and is sharing some of his experiences with us from this year's John Deere Classic.

As long as it doesn’t rain too much, Kyle Stanley has a chance to finish strong in the 2018 John Deere Classic. And if it does, he just might win this tournament. He knows how to win, with two victories in his young career.

Stanley hales from Gig Harbor, WA … where it rains from October through March.  Much like that scene in Forrest Gump where it rains light, heavy, from the right to the left and even from the ground up, Stanley is familiar with wet weather.

And there’s the rub. A good friend of mine, teaching pro Jeff Jackson, spent many years in Washington and Stanley was a good acquaintance. Stanley played collegiately at Clemson and now is a fixture in the top tier of the PGA.

By the way, Kyle in the one on the right.
