We all hate road construction, and over the course of the last decade, it seems there has been construction on or around the I-74 bridge every year. Can you say "zipper merge?"

Things are only going to get worse as construction on the new I-74 bridge continues, but at the end of it all we'll have a nice, new shiny bridge.

One of the road closures necessary for construction of the new crossing has been the intersection of 7th Avenue and 19th Street in downtown Moline. The key access point to the bridge has been closed since October, but construction crews were able to complete the work early, and the intersection will re-open today - November 22.

Work on 19th St from 7th Ave to 11th Ave A will continue through December, but at least we have one bit of good construction news.
