Pets need our help at the holidays and a local non-profit hopes to raise money for our furry friends and local animal shelters.

Rescued is a high-end, non-profit resale shop stocked with items from clothing to books to housewares at affordable prices. This weekend is the shop's open house, 10 am-4 pm, Sat. Dec. 2 and 12-4 pm on Sun. Dec. 3. You'll find food, fun, give-aways, freebies, and raffles with proceeds benefiting local animal shelters and families. Rescued is located at 2105 16th St., Moline.

Their mission is to support animal welfare in the Quad Cities by donating profits to local pets in need.So far the organization has raised over $50,000 since it opened two years ago.
