The I-74 Bridge remodel might be the biggest construction project the Quad Cities has ever seen. This week, they're starting to remove huge chunks of the current bridge, which is the first big step forward we've seen in months.

At this point, it can be kind of hard to visualize the final product. Yes, we've seen pictures, but until the bridge is totally done, it's hard to really predict the scope of it all. But there is a way to do so!

The Rock Island Arsenal Museum officially has a virtual reality experience set up to take an actual walkthrough of what the bridge will look like. The experience began in late March and will be available through June 1, 2019, according to Visit Quad Cities.

They describe it as:

Inspired by cutting-edge virtual reality technology, the Iowa Department of Transporation partnered with the Institute for Transporation at Iowa State University and the university's Virtual Reality Applications Center to develop a fully immersive experience of the new bridge. Come and explore the new I-74 Bridge and the history of Quad Cities bridges.

The best part is, it's free!
